The Chalk Temperature Dilemma

Chalk temperature of my wood glue = Approx. 47°F or 8°C

The chalk temperature of wood glue, apparently refers to the temperature at which the surrounding air and materials can be at during application, to achieve a good bond.  The dilemma, refers to the tricky situation in which to build a door, to fill a gaping hole letting in the cold outside, one has to use the glue.  It is quite cold in the workshop… It will be so great to have a toasty warm triple glazed window in there.

Window wood acheived!

After more than a year since originally having the idea to build a double French door in oak for our workshop, we have the wood! I went to the the sawmill to help prep some pieces and explore the exciting woodworking machinery.

Scroll saw-sewing machine wins Instructables Contest

A big thank you to everyone who voted for this step-by-step guide to change a sewing machine into a scroll saw!

Votes got it through into the 30 finalists and the Instructables judges decided upon the winners today… It was amongst a bunch of cool instructables that got first prize (check them out here). Wooho!!  Now to think of some things I should make with the Shapeways voucher (suggestions welcome).
